"Coffee with an Expert": Aftertaste (Reflection after the meeting)

Every coffee meeting revolves around resources, communication, community, and a positive atmosphere. If it’s ‘Coffee with an Expert,’ it becomes even more special: it offers professional inspiration, current knowledge and opportunities, a new network of like-minded individuals, and potentially future collaborators.

At our ‘Coffee with an Expert,’ representatives from public organizations, charitable foundations, and other non-profit entities came together to engage in lively discussions about pressing issues in effective financial management. They explored the importance and necessity of proactive and efficient financial management in the operations of non-profit organizations. In today’s landscape, public sector representatives must respond swiftly to various challenges, continually possess current knowledge, and remain flexible in their decision-making.

Participants had the opportunity to gain valuable insights from our finance expert, Olga Saukh, who has extensive experience working with non-profit organizations. She shared important recommendations, insights, and practical experiences on:

  • Optimization of Financial Resources: Strategies for maximizing the use of available financial resources for project implementation.
  • Project Budget Management: Modern approaches to budgeting and management that help prevent deficits and ensure organizational stability.

  • Financial Risks and Challenges: Guidance on recognizing and minimizing risks that may arise in the financial management of non-profit organizations.

Participants had the chance to receive answers to specific questions, discuss practical cases, and share their own experiences. Special attention was given to the issues of financial transparency and compliance with legal requirements, which are crucial for building trust with donors and partners. 

The expert also highlighted the importance of strategic planning and innovative approaches to financial management in the context of limited resources, which can enable organizations to achieve their social missions more effectively.
