Workshops

The workshop format is relevant and in demand in today’s realities. This is related to the development of modern approaches to learning, professional growth, and teamwork. Workshops allow participants not only to listen to theory but also to actively engage in the learning process through practical tasks. This enables better retention of new knowledge, as people learn through their own experiences. Continuous interaction among participants, as well as with trainers or facilitators, fosters the exchange of ideas, problem-solving, and collective brainstorming, significantly enhancing effectiveness.

In this format, the specialists from the NGO «Vchennya» conduct powerful workshops aimed at strengthening the financial capacity and organizational resilience of civil society organizations (CSOs), uniting them around a common goal — to create effective, sustainable, and influential organizations capable of responding to contemporary challenges.

Workshop “CSO Formula”

The workshop gathered over 70 participants from 13 regions of Ukraine. It was the first of its kind event aimed at inspiring representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs) to acquire new knowledge for the development of their organizations. The workshop program was adapted to the specific needs and requests of the participants. The tasks and the depth of exploration of each topic depended on the participants’ level of preparedness and the issues discussed in various sessions:

  • Project creation and implementation

  • Financial management

  • Legal support

  • Procurement organization

  • Monitoring and evaluation of project implementation

Participants had access to practical case studies, expert advice, and the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer format, allowing each participant, either individually or in teams of like-minded individuals, to go through the full project lifecycle — from idea to reporting to donors.

The workshop is a place where participants can get answers to specific requests or solutions to particular problems, and they can immediately see the practical application of new knowledge and skills.

The effective and functional CSO Formula is a resilient organizational model that integrates various management elements into a unified structure — from project management and HR to financial monitoring and budgeting.

The continuous interaction among participants, both with each other and with trainers or facilitators, along with the exchange of ideas and collective problem-solving, not only provided participants with knowledge but also motivated them for further development.

In defining the program for the second workshop, the «Vchennya» team analyzed requests from organizations and identified the relevant needs of CSOs in today’s realities.

«Building the organizational capacity of civil society organizations» is a theme that is relevant for both newly established organizations and those that have been operating for a long time; they need new knowledge, new approaches, and an understanding of the changes that are constantly occurring in legislation, as well as effective project activities, etc.

The 85 participants who took part in the event received comprehensive support, including strategic planning, mentoring sessions, and training on fundraising, HR processes, financial auditing, and legal support.

At the workshop, the organization’s experts shared their developments, practical advice, and experience in supporting and developing the organizational capacity of organizations, working together on the development (or updating) of policies and regulations, organizational and project budgeting, procurement organization, and optimizing their internal processes such as HR and financial management.

A particularly valuable aspect of the workshop was the practical approach — participants worked in groups, shared experiences, and engaged in networking sessions where they applied the knowledge gained in practice.

Workshops share a common vision: strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations for their sustainable development and impact on social change in Ukraine.

The main goal of these events is to help CSOs become financially stable and organizationally mature. Through such initiatives, civil society organizations can not only address current issues but also formulate long-term development strategies, adapting to new challenges in the external environment.

«Vchennya» has the knowledge, experience, and desire not only to constantly improve itself but also to share the knowledge and experience gained with others!
